Her Heart

She is to believe that love

Should feel like a storm

Passionate,

Raw and raging.

But so many storms

Left her

More broken than before.

Now she looks for a love

That feels

Like a night

After the storm

Is over.

The ebbing waves of emotion

Engulfed half her mind

In a state of dilemma

Induced by love

She lost her heart.

Like a tree after a storm

She wished for zephyr

But what followed was pure rage

And left her shattered

Like crystals of ice.

But she lost her heart

And now she doesn’t

Want it back

For she doesn’t want to

Fall prey to love again

And with a heart

She just might!

  1. She used to tell me that a full moon was when mysterious things happen and wishes come true. –Shannon A. Thompson. I hope things turn for the better in ‘her’ life. Very gracefully narrated. Regards. Jay
